Thank you so much for painting prophecy using the palette of mystery and not certainty. I often find that people are less afraid of the prophetic than they are bored with it because most "prophets" do very little other than to tell people how to think, instead of calling them to the heart of God like we find in the biblical examples. An excellent read. Thank you again for sharing!

This was so encouraging and spoke directly to some concerns I’ve felt about hopes I’ve been carrying. It was also so comforting and clarifying to read your words about prophecy, something that has both intrigued and intimidated me, and be able to see it in a more calm and clear light. Thank you so much for sharing this today!

Oh my goodness, I really love the way you wrote this!! I received a prophetic word that seemingly keeps getting confirmed by random believers I don’t know who randomly feel led to share a word with me from the Lord. It definitely doesn’t take away the mystery but it sustains me in the waiting, wrestling, and wonder!

Strahan, you never fail to reignite feelings of wonder and beauty in me in places that feel dry and dead. I have a very bitter taste in my mouth for "prophecy," having just come out of a charismatic church that lifted up a big P "prophet" whose idea of prophecy was roasting vulnerable people in front of their church family. If you questioned his methods, you were told "touch not God's anointed one" and if you were hurt by his words then it was understood by most of the church that you simple aren't "Spiritual enough." It's hard to separate these tainted and very human expressions of prophecy from the mystical understandings. I'm in a process of separating wheat from chaff and I feel that you're the quiet voice of optimism in what feels like a sea of cynicism in my spirit. Thanks for helping me to keep my heart soft and desiring spiritual things in a very difficult time.
